College Offers Opportunities for Life, COOL, is a college advising program offered to Abilene ISD students through the Abilene Education Foundation. The primary goal of COOL is to encourage and assist students who will be the first in their families to successfully transition into post-secondary education. COOL also offers several interactive classroom workshops for middle school, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students.

Would you like to have a COOL representative come to your campus and provide a day of interactive college awareness and planning workshops with your students? All workshops last exactly one class period in length, and we can stay with you all day so all classes receive the same instruction.

We offer the following interactive classroom workshops:

  • It’s all about me: My Future Goals!
  • Create Your College – Vision Boards
  • Mock College Admissions
  • Dream a Little Dream: Exploring College Majors and Careers
  • Should I Go to College & What Kind of Education is Right for Me?
  • How Do I Get to College? (Planning for the Future, Making the
  • Most of the High School Experience, Getting Involved and Time Management)
  • S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting for College

The COOL Program will  provide all the materials necessary for the workshops!
