Abilene Education Foundation is proud to be an endowed foundation that provides support, opportunity, and assistance for the students and teachers of the Abilene Independent School District. These funds also make it possible for the AEF to be able to explore new avenues to support academic excellence.

The money from the endowment allows the AEF to have programs, without cost to the foundation, such as the STAR and GIFT grants, Young Masters Juried Art Exhibition, and the C.O.O.L. program.

The Community Foundation of Abilene manages two other endowments for Abilene Education Foundation.

One grows from donations given to AEF by a donor who is gives the difference between his local and county tax rate before his senior status freeze and what he now pays in taxes. This endowment is also open for donations to assist AEF in running its programs and paying for operational costs.

The other endowment provides the AEF Alumni Scholarships for Abilene High School and Cooper High School graduates to attend a college or university. Donations made to the scholarship program are added to the endowment enabling AEF to award scholarships each May to deserving students of both high schools. Funds raised from the Cajun Fest were added to this endowment to provide stability for the program. Alumni from AHS and CHS have the opportunity to donate to the endowment administrated by AEF.

Investing in the Abilene Education Foundation is an investment in the future of our students. Donating to the AEF endowment ensures that the foundation will be able to continue its mission to support and enhance the students, staff, and schools of the Abilene ISD.
