Mike Thomesen
Mike Thomesen currently serves as Certification Officer for the School of Education at McMurry University. He recently retired from the Abilene Independent School District. His wife, Sue, teaches for the district. They have two daughters who are teachers and three grandchildren.

- Recipient of several awards for excellence in teaching
- 35 years in public education as a teacher and administrator
- History teacher on middle and high school levels
- Lead social studies teacher for AISD's SOAR Program
- Chairman of Abilene Young Life Committee for three years
- Reader for National Advanced Placement Exam in European History
