NFIB YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR FOUNDATION

CRITERIA:
- Eligibility: graduating high school senior who is entering his/her freshman year at an accredited two-or four-year university, college, or vocational institute in the fall of 2009.
- A Student who demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit and initiative through examples such as: starting his/her own business; participation in organizations such as DECA, Junior Achievement, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), among others; or through other initiatives. They encourage students to mention any endeavors or work experiences offered as community service. An officially established business is not a requirement.
- Applicants must meet or exceed recommended academic standards, using standardized test scores (ACT/SAT), class rank and GPA as indicators provided in high school records/transcripts.
- Award recipients are selected by an independent scholarship organization.
- Scholarships are merit-based, not based on financial need.

SMART Scholarship - The Science, Math, and Research for Transformation Scholarship
ELIGIBILITY: The SMART Scholarship for Service Program is open only to citizens of the United States. Persons who hold permanent resident status are not eligible. Proof of citizenship will be required. Students must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible. Applicants for undergraduate awards must be already enrolled in a U.S. college or university. ELIGIBLITY: Applicants to the MetroPCS Community Scholars Program must be high school seniors attending high school and plan to enroll in a full-time* undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a standard 4.0 grading scale.
AWARDS: If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Awards are one-time only and are not renewable. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
