Candy Scarborough is retired after 30 years in education. The last 23 years were spent at Austin Elementary as counselor then principal. She enjoyed working with AISD personnel and families. AEF provides an opportunity to show her appreciation and admiration of teachers and education in Abilene.
Candy earned a B.S. in education at Texas Tech University, a Master’s degree in counseling at Hardin-Simmons University, and an Administrator’s Certification at Abilene Christian University.
She is married to Charles Scarborough, longtime Abilene attorney. They have five grandchildren and enjoy family, golf, and travel.
Active in the community Candy has served on the United Way CIRT committee, Junior League, volunteer at the Grace Museum, Altar Guild and Interim Administrator at Heavenly Rest Episcopal Church, and is currently Board Chairman at Young Audiences Abilene.
