C.O.O.L. Program

C.O.O.L. (College Offers Opportunities for Life) places four full-time college advisors on the AISD high school campuses in order to assist students who are the first in their families to attend college.  Services include assistance with registering for the SAT/ACT, completing applications for college admission, financial aid, and scholarships, taking students on college tours, and conducting educational outreach for elementary and middle school students.

The Judy Dudley Memorial GIFT

The GIFT (Giving to First-time Teachers) award AISD teachers who are new to the profession with funds to purchase classroom materials and supplies, supplementary those provided by the school district.

STAR Grants

The  STAR (Supporting Teachers with Academic Resources) grants are awarded in September of each year, fund classroom projects that support curriculum and enrichment activities.  STAR Grants are used for an array of classroom purposes, from flexible seating to iPads to science laboratory skeletons. Over the course of the past nine cycles, AEF has given over $400,000 in total grants to hard-working, well-deserved teachers.

Teacher in the Limelight Celebration

Our TLC (Teachers in the Limelight Celebration) honors the dedicated work of teachers in AISD with campus recognition, a formal dinner, and a monetary award.  A TLC teacher possesses integrity and a love for teaching that spills into the classroom.

Young Masters Juried Art Exhibition

The Young Masters Juried Art Exhibition provides an annual juried art exhibition at the Grace Museum for Advanced Placement Studio Art students to recognize and encourage outstanding artistic expression with a quality museum exhibition.

The Payroll Deduction Campaign gives employees of Abilene ISD the opportunity to directly support STAR Teacher Grants, or any other AEF program through payroll deduction. This has allowed AEF to give away more money each and every year to STAR Teacher Grants. Employees may also specify their donation go to another AEF program.
